One-to-One Labelling Compliance

One-to-one sessions with a Food Technologist spread out over a 7-hour period to target and document the specific ins and outs of the complex EU and National legislation that relates to labelling specific food products.

Who is this workshop designed for?
Aimed at individual food business operators who are labelling food products for the first time or those who have been audited by the regulatory authority (e.g Environmental Health Officer) and found to have non-conformances.

What will I learn?
Through presentation and interactive discussions with a Food Technologist, the client will learn about the regulatory requirements for food businesses when developing a label for their product, and how best to avoid having products recalled by the regulatory authority. Learn about requirements regarding:
• Use by versus best before dates and shelf-life**
• Nutritional declaration
• Health claims
• Storage/use instructions
• How to list and quid ingredients
• Minimum font size
• How to state allergens, and much more
** *Shelf-life is a mandatory requirement of labelling. Food business operators will learn about the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that affect shelf-life and will learn how to approach getting their specific food product tested by a laboratory, advise on how to interpret results. Advice on whether they should label their product with “Use by” or “Best Before” will be determined.

Receive a personalised overview of mandatory labelling requirements as per EU and national legislation and review of your businesses food products label for compliance. This will be carried out over a series of in person or online meetings. A document summarising the requirements and outcome of label review will be presented to the client at the end of the session.
