Connectsus – Athenry Food Charter

Since April 15th, the Connectsus Training Programme has brought local participants together for a series of interactive workshops focused on sustainability, food systems, and community action. Through expert-led sessions, the group has explored key topics such as environmental issues in Athenry, sustainable food production, food access, and affordability. A major outcome so far is the co-creation of a draft Food Charter for Athenry, shaped through collaborative learning and discussion. The programme blends academic insight with practical tools to support community-led change. With the final session approaching on June 26th, we’re excited to complete the charter and explore how local partnerships can drive long-term sustainability. All are welcome to join and take part in the conversation.
